‘This Is Us’ Final Season Trailer Previews A Bittersweet End For The Pearsons

This Is Us

Thanksgiving seems the perfect day for the debut of the bittersweet trailer for the sixth and final season of NBC’s hit drama This Is Us.

Like the 15-second teaser released yesterday, today’s footage is set to Cyndi Lauper’s “Time After Time” sung by Kate (Chrissy Metz) while Toby (Chris Sullivan) looks on.

The emotion-filled clip features a present-day Rebecca (Mandy Moore) struggling with her advancing Alzheimer’s.

“I don’t know how much longer I have before things get worse,” she says, “so I made sure to remember every little detail.”

That sentiment is likely shared by fans of the Emmy-winning series as they savor their final moments with the Pearsons.

One powerful scene features a distressed William (Ron Cephas Jones) in a hospital bed while Randall (Sterling K. Brown) holds his face, looks intently into his eyes and encourages, “Just breathe. Come on now. Breathe with me.”

Another moment shows Kevin (Justin Hartley) cradling a distraught Randall who later tells him, “It’s the first time in 36 years you’ve said the words, ‘He’s my brother.'”

Created and executive produced by Dan Fogelman, This Is Us comes from 20th Television. The cast of the series is led by Milo Ventimiglia, Moore, Brown — who won an Emmy for his role — Metz, Hartley, Susan Kelechi Watson and Sullivan.

This Is Us returns for its final season at 9 p.m. Tuesday, January 4.
