The broadcasters of Stephen Colbert Presents Tooning Out The News beamed into Comic-Con@Home on Friday, to present “special coverage” of developments at the entertainment confab.
Its heavy-hitting co-anchors James Smartwood (R.J. Fried) and Kylie Weaver (Maureen Monahan) were both present, along with chief field correspondent James Smartwood Jr. (Zach Smilovitz), and a trio of hosts: Tory Hughes (Naima Pearce), Tyler Templeton (Jack Bensinger) and Dr. Ike Bloom (Ikechukwu Ufomadu).
Subjects covered by the group included “megalomaniac billionaires seeking intergalactic tax shelters,” expansions of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and cosplaying from home.
They also talked about numerous rumored Star Trek projects including Star Trek: The Final Flapjack, Star Trek: Wacky Forehead Squad, Star Trek: The Search for New I.P., Star Trek: The Last Contact with William Shatner, Trek of Easttown: The Wrath of Wawa, and Star Trek: SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE.
