Today is Star Trek Day and the celebration of the 54th anniversary of the original Star Trek series wouldn’t be complete without a few exclusive news and trailers at the latest franchises — specifically Star Trek: Discovery. During the panel for the CBS All Access series, the first full trailer for season 3 was revealed and it packed in a lot.
We got the first sneak peek at the upcoming season at the end of July when CBS All Access released a teaser announcing the premiere date of October 15. The new trailer expands on the teaser as we follow Commander Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) after they entered a wormhole in the season 2 finale. The new season finds the crew of the U.S.S Discovery landing in an unknown future far from
the home they once knew. Now living in a time filled with uncertainty, the crew and some familiar and new faces, including the recently announced cast additions Blu del Barrio and Ian Alexander, work together to restore hope to the Federation.
The third 13-episode season will premiere on CBS All Access on October 15 and new episodes will be available on demand weekly on Thursdays. The season three cast also includes Doug Jones (Commander Saru), Anthony Rapp (Lt. Commander Paul Stamets), Mary Wiseman (Ensign Sylvia Tilly), Wilson Cruz (Dr. Hugh Culber), David Ajala (Cleveland “Book” Booker) and Michelle Yeoh (Philippa Georgiou).
