Seth Meyers caught up viewers on President Donald Trump’s latest antics about his taxes and immigration laws.
Per usual, Trump and team insist Trump’s taxes are under audit – “Fake Audit,” Meyers calls it – and POTUS keeps repeating the claim over and over, every time he’s asked.
Playing some of the clips, Meyers concluded, “Every time Trump answers a question, he sounds like a scientist insisting on giving a TED talk despite a recent massive head wound.”
“He tees it up, like he’s about to switch gears, and then just repeats himself, again,” Meyers described.
These days, Trump and team are back to the excuse he trotted out during his infamous presser post mid-term elections, that people would not understand his taxes. Back then, Trump boasted he had the “biggest and best law firms” doing his taxes adding that “people don’t understand” his tax returns and his is a “very big company, far bigger than you would understand,” adding. It’s big, complex and probably feet high.”
“We need an audit” just to figure “what the hell” Trump is saying, Meyers complained, adding, “Why does the President of the United States always sound like spam email asking you for your social security number?”
Recently, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders tried a variation on the theme, saying the Dem members of Congress who want to see Trump’s taxes are too dumb to understand them.”
Obviously, Sanders is “trolling us so we will get mad” and then take “what we say about Trump and turn it back on us.”
Meyers was happy to play, running clips of Trump famously saying “furniture” when he meant “future,” calling Apple CEO Tim Cook “Tim Apple, bragging that international negotiators have total respect “for Donald Trump’s very, very large a brain.”
“Whatever he reads off a teleprompter, he Magoo’s it,” Meyers snarked.
