“I want to talk to you about the female orgasm,” says Elena (Isabella Gomez) to Lydia (Rita Moreno) at the beginning of the season 4 trailer for Norman Lear’s Emmy-winning comedy One Day At A Time, giving you a hint at what’s to come in its first season on Pop TV.
Inspired by Norman Lear’s 1975 series, the comedy will continue to tell the story of the Cuban American Alvarez family. This season will find Penelope (Justina Machado) exploring a surprising relationship, her mother Lydia (Rita Moreno) experiencing a religious crisis – as well as revealing the details of her surprise trip to Cuba with Dr. Berkowitz (Stephen Tobolowsky), and Schneider (Todd Grinnell) finding his relationship with Avery (India de Beaufort) growing deeper. Meanwhile, Elena (Isabella Gomez) begins to prepare for college and Alex (Marcel Ruiz) starts to date.
Pop TV rescued the revived the Sony Pictures TV-produced series after Netflix canceled the show following its third season. Norman Lear, Mike Royce, Gloria Calderón Kellett and Brent Miller serve as executive producers.
The March 24 season premiere will be simulcast on ViacomCBS sibling networks TV Land and Logo at 9:30 PM ET/PT. The series airs following new episodes of the final season of Schitt’s Creek, and and will move to its permanent time slot April 14th at 9 PM ET/PT.
