The Motion Picture Television Fund’s Reel Stories, Real Lives kicks off Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. PT with a livestream event hosted by Hugh Jackman along with appearances by Danai Gurira, Angela Bassett, Jason Bateman and Yvette Nicole Brown, who will share stories that highlight the impact of the organization on the entertainment community.
It’s the ninth annual fundraiser for MPTF, which supports working and retired members of the Hollywood community with health and social services including temporary financial assistance, case management and residential living. During the global coronavirus pandemic, the organization has tripled the number of community members it serves, assisting with financial relief and issues around social isolation and loneliness, stress and anxiety. It has made more than 15,000 social work and care calls this year.
This year’s event is sponsored by 24 Hour Home Care, The Animation Guild, IATSE Local 839, Biomeme, Cast & Crew, Entertainment Partners and UCLA Health. You can donate here.
Check out the livestream above (it will also be available on MPTF’s YouTube and Facebook pages).
