Bleecker Street today unveiled a trailer for its Naomi Watts thriller Infinite Storm, from director Małgorzata Szumowska (Never Gonna Snow Again), which it is releasing wide on March 25. Watch it above.
The film is based on Ty Gagne’s Reader’s Digest article “High Places: Footprints in the Snow Lead to an Emotional Rescue” and inspired by the true story of Pam Bales (Watts). It finds the experienced climber ascending Mount Washington — turning back before she reaches the summit as a huge blizzard approaches. On her way down, she encounters a lone, stranded man and takes it upon herself to get them both down the mountain before nightfall arrives and they succumb to the storm.
Joshua Rollins handled the screenplay adaptation for the feature, also starring Billy Howle, Denis O’Hare and Parker Sawyers. Watts, Peter Sobiloff, Mike Sobiloff, Trudie Styler, Celine Rattray and Jenny Halper produced, with Szumowska, Nic Marshall, Joshua Rollins, Jason De Beer, Nick Shumaker, Shirin Hartmann, Des Tan, Andrew Karpen and Kent Sanderson exec producing. Jacek Kulczycki, Magdalena Zimecka, Radosława Bardes, Dflights, Dominika Kulczyk and Jackie Donohoe served as co-producers, with Bales and Gagne as co-executive producers.
