iCarly will feature a mini-reunion for Drake & Josh co-stars Miranda Cosgrove and Josh Peck, as reveled in the Season 2 trailer for Paramount+’s reboot. Watch it above.
On Wednesday, the Paramount streaming service dropped the latest look at the upcoming iCarly season and its premiere date. Set to return Friday, Apr. 8, Season 2 picks up right after the first season ended, with Carly (Cosgrove) refocusing her attention on her friends and family following her romantic complications, all while working to boost her revived web channel. Spencer (Jerry Trainor) and Harper (Laci Mosley) also navigate new personal and career developments, while Freddie (Nathan Kress) balances raising Millicent (Jaidyn Triplett) with a new app and a new girlfriend.
“Did you want iCarly to be the most successful web series in history, or did you want it to be a massive failure,” Peck’s character asks Freddie in the trailer.
The clip also teases a possible return of the Freddie-Carly romance, even more of Spencer’s quirkiness and a new chapter for the Groovy Smoothie. iCarly Season 2 also will feature appearances by some Drag Race stars.
Nickelodeon’s original iCarly, which ran from 2007-12, followed a group of best friends as they created a webcast for and about kids their age while grappling with everyday problems and adventures. The original series was created by Dan Schneider.
Paramount+’s iCarly is produced by Nickelodeon Studios and is executive produced by Ali Schouten, Jonathan Fener and Cosgrove, with Schouten and Fener also serving as showrunners. Jerry Trainor, Nathan Kress and Alissa Vradenburg serve as producers.
