Searchlight Pictures today unveiled the trailer for its dramedy Good Luck To You, Leo Grande, starring Emma Thompson (Love, Actually) and Daryl McCormack (Peaky Blinders), which will stream exclusively as a Hulu Original in the U.S. starting June 17th.
The film from director Sophie Hyde follows Nancy Stokes (Thompson), who has led a full life. A retired schoolteacher and widower, she finds herself yearning for the one thing that has eluded her: a satisfying sexual experience. She decides to do something about that, with a plan that involves an anonymous hotel room and a young sex worker who calls himself Leo Grande (McCormack). Leo is confident, dapper and takes pride in being good at his job. He also appears to be intrigued by Nancy—one of many things to surprise her during their time together.
Good Luck To You, Leo Grande premiered to critical acclaim at Sundance 2022 and was acquired by Searchlight out of the festival for around $7.5 million. Debbie Gray and Adrian Politowski produced the film, written by Katy Brand, who exec produced alongside Hyde, Julian Gleek, Mark Gooder, Alison Thompson, Nadia Khamlichi, Nessa McGill and Martin Metz.
