‘Angelyne’ Trailer: Emmy Rossum Takes On L.A. Icon In Peacock Limited Series – Update

UPDATED with full trailer: Peacock has released the official trailer for Angelyne, the limited series starring Emmy Rossum that is gearing up for its May 19 premiere.

The series, showrun by Allison Miller who executive produces alongside director Lucy Tcherniak, Rossum, Sam Esmail, Chad Hamilton and The Hollywood Reporter, spotlights an original LA icon from the ’80s who infiltrated pop culture and rose to fame when a series of billboards began to appear around town featuring her signature curvier figure.

Martin Freeman, Alex Karpovsky, Hamish Linklater, Charlie Rowe, Lukas Gage, Michael Angarano, Molly Ephraim and David Krumholtz also star.

PREVIOUSLY, March 9: Peacock has revealed the first footage for Angelyne, starring Emmy Rossum as the titular Los Angeles billboard icon.

Angelyne is about the glow-in-the-dark queen of the universe and LA’s original billboard icon from the ’80s who infiltrated pop culture and rose to fame in the 1980s when a series of billboards began to appear around LA featuring her signature curvier figure. The series also stars Martin Freeman, Alex Karpovsky, Hamish Linklater, Charlie Rowe, Lukas Gage, Michael Angarano, Molly Ephraim and David Krumholtz.

In the brief teaser, Rossum makes her debut in Angelyne’s signature hot pink outfit, updo and Corvette. As she drives she reveals a premiere date for the Peacock series: May 19.

“You really wanna know my story? The story of my life? The truth is, I’m something you have to experience. I’m Angelyne,” she says.

Allison Miller serves as showrunner and executive produces alongside director Lucy Tcherniak. Additional executive producers are Emmy Rossum via her Composition 8 company, Sam Esmail, via his UCP-based Esmail Corp, Chad Hamilton, via Anonymous Content, and The Hollywood Reporter. Matt Spicer also directs. Gary Baum, who wrote The Hollywood Reporter feature story on which the series is based, serves as consultant. The series is produced by UCP a division of Universal Studio Group.
