‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ Trailer Smashes Viewing Record; More Footage Coming

Despite scrambling to post its Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer a week early after a leaked version went viral Wednesday, Marvel broke viewing records with the first peek at its 2015 summer blockbuster. The company said today the Avengers 2 trailer notched 34.3 million views globally in its first 24 hours. Over 26.7 million of those came after the initial leak when Marvel responded by posting a high-resolution HD version to its official YouTube channel. The previous Marvel record holder was 2013’s Iron Man 3, which Avengers 2 easily eclipsed by over 20 million views.

Promotional corporate synergy in the ABC-Disney family is still in the stars for next week. The highly anticipated Avengers 2 trailer was originally set to debut during the October 28 episode of Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Instead, Marvel said today it will unveil new footage from the May 1, 2015 release in its place. Another Age Of Ultron peek is scheduled to air on ABC the following week on November 9 at 9 PM ET during Marvel 75 Years: From Pulp to Pop!.
