‘American Dad!’ Moves to TBS; 2.5 Million Follow


TBS’s American Dad! premiere kicked off Monday night with 2.5 million viewers in Live + Same Day delivery for the premiere on TBS and encore presentation on Adult Swim. That made it basic cable’s most-watched entertainment program for the night. The show also topped last night’s charts among basic cable entertainment programs in key demos, drawing more than 1.6 million adults 18-49 and 1.2 million adults 18-34.

american dadBreaking it down: TBS’s 9 PM premiere telecast drew 1.1 million viewers in Live + Same Day — 851,000 demo viewers and 630,000 adults 18-34. Adult Swim followed with an encore at 10 PM., garnering 1.4 million viewers in Live + Same Day —  798,000 demo viewers and 530,000 adults 18-34.

Subsequent episodes of American Dad! will premiere on TBS each Monday night at 9 PM; encores will run on Adult Swim the following Monday night at 10 PM.

Back in July of ’13, TBS announced today that had picked up Fox’s animated comedy American Dad!, ordering 15 episodes of of the 20th Century Fox TV-produced series’ 11th season. The Seth MacFarlane comedy premiered on Fox in 2005 and was a long-standing member of that network’s Sunday animation block. Under the deal, fellow Turner network Adult Swim will present encores of each episode after initial airings on TBS. TBS and Adult Swim already were airing reruns of American Dad! and MacFarlane’s Family Guy throughout the networks’ lineups.
