Rich Green Jumps To ICM Partners; Top Book-To-Film Rights Broker Leaves Resolution

EXCLUSIVE: Veteran agent Rich Green has joined the Media Rights Department of ICM Partners. Long one of the top brokerers of film and TV rights for books, Green joins ICM’s Los Angeles outpost after the talent agency Resolution announced it would fold.

Green previously was an agent at CAA and UTA. His prolific list of authors includes Silver Linings Playbook‘s Matthew Quick, The Corrections‘ Jonathan Franzen, Fight Club‘s Chuck Palahniuk, Snow Crash‘s Neal Stephenson, The One And Only‘s Emily Giffin, and The Discovery Of Witches‘ Deborah Harkness. While a lot of Resolution agents found the sledding rough, Green’s position of making movie deals with books allowed him to soldier through. Right after Resolution confirmed it was folding, Green closed a deal with Harvey Weinstein for Quick’s Every Exquisite Thing.

He should be a strong fit for ICM Partners, which reps for publishing and film such authors as Patricia Cornwell, Thomas L. Friedman, Cormac McCarthy, Walter Isaacson, Toni Morrison, George Saunders, Donna Tartt, freshly minted Nobel Prize winner Malala Yousafzai, Hampton Sides, Anna Quindlen, Carl Hiaasen, Geraldine Brooks, E.L. Doctorow, Anthony Swofford, Haruki Murakami, Nelson DeMille, John Feinstein, Chris Cleave, Ann Patchett, Jennifer Egan, Katherine Boo and Steve Martin, to name a few.
