NBC Nabs Comedy Starring Monica Potter & Produced By Ellen DeGeneres With Pilot Production Commitment

As Parenthood is wrapping its six-season run on NBC, the network is looking to keep series co-star Monica Potter in the fold with a new project. A half-hour comedy, toplined by Potter and executive produced by Ellen DeGeneres, has received a pilot production commitment from the network. Written by I Hate My Teenage Daughter creators Sherry Bilsing-Graham and Ellen Kreamer, the untitled multi-camera comedy hails from Warner Bros TV and DeGeneres’ studio-based company A Very Good Production. Details about the premise are not being revealed, but I hear the series is loosely based on Potter’s life.

Bilsing-Graham and Kreamer executive produce with A Very Good Production’s DeGeneres and Jeff Kleeman. In addition to being attached to star, Potter serves as producer.

Potter’s co-starring role on Parenthood has earned her a Critics’ Choice TV Award last year and a Golden Globe nomination this year. She is with ICM Partners, The Schiff Co. and Patti Felker.

ICM Partners-repped A Very Good Production has another multicamera comedy at NBC with midseason series One Big Happy.

Before creating/executive producing I Hate My Teenage Daughter, Bilsing-Graham and Kreamer served as executive producers on The New Adventures Of Old Christine, both multi-camera comedy series produced by WBTV.
