‘Jane The Virgin’ Review: Dominic Patten On The CW’s Pregnant Pause

Gina Rodriguez Jane The Virgin

Jane The Virgin, based on a popular Venezuelan telenovela, finally debuts tonight on the CW. It stars Gina Rodriguez as a do-everything-right young woman who finds herself accidentally pregnant, and not the usual way (and not that one other very unusual way either, religious folks).

I review the much-awaited show, and whether it’s worth all the buzz that’s been building since it was announced. Watch my video, but trust me, you’ll want to know more about this show. It premieres at 9 PM and also stars Andrea Navedo, Justin Baldoni and Ivonne Coll. Brett Dier, as Jane’s much-frustrated boyfriend, looks like another CW hunklet in the making.

The show’s executive producers are Ben Silverman, Brad Silberling, Jenny Snyder, Jorge Granier and Gary Pearl. Silberling (City of Angels, Casper, Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events) and Golden Globe-winning actor-director-seemingly everything else Debbie Allen (Fame, Grey’s Anatomy) each directed one of the initial episodes.
