Marvel’s ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ To Premiere On Disney XD In 2015

We first heard about Marvel’s box office blockbuster Guardians Of The Galaxy heading to the small screen last summer at Comic-Con. Today we learned it will premiere in 2015 on Disney XD.  The series will feature characters introduced in the film, including Peter Quill as Star-Lord, the brash adventurer who, to save the universe from its greatest threats, joins forces with a quartet of disparate misfits – Rocket Raccoon, a tree-like humanoid named Groot, the enigmatic, expert fighter Gamora and the rough-edged warrior Drax the Destroyer.

Produced by Marvel Animation, the series will be executive produced by Alan Fine, Dan Buckley, Joe Quesada and Jeph Loeb. Co-executive producers include Stan Lee, Eric Radomski, Cort Lane, and Stephen Wacker.

Guardians Of The Galaxy had the largest August opening in North American history when it debuted to $94 million in its premiere weekend, The film became the most successful domestic release of 2014, topping the box office for four weeks following its release.
