Ed Helms Producing CBS Sibling Comedy

CBS has put in development a multi-camera comedy from Ed Helms’ Pacific Electric company and Universal TV, where the company has a first-look deal. It will be written by Mike Arnold (Archer), who penned another comedy project for Pacific Electric last season that sold to ABC, and earlier this year was tapped by Lionsgate to co-write feature Epic Fail for Helms to star in and produce. The untitled CBS project centers on Steve Kurtz who, back from (technically, escorted out of) Japan, moves in with his recently divorced sister and takes over after-school parenting duties for her twins, bringing his uninhibited and proudly eccentric lifestyle to bear in teaching them life lessons everyone should know, and many that you shouldn’t. Arnold executive produces with Pacific Electric’s Helms and Mike Falbo. This season, Pacific Electric also has two comedy projects at NBC from an up-and-coming performers, Julian McCullough’s Poor House and Big Kids, from Joe Wengert. On the acting side, Helms is filming the Vacation sequel for Warner Bros. Arnold is repped by Prinicpato-Young and UTA. Helms is repped by PYE, CAA and attorney Ira Schreck
