Tony Cavalero To Star As Dewey Finn In ‘School Of Rock’ On Nickelodeon

Nickelodeon’s live action musical comedy series School Of Rock has found its Dewey Finn. Actor/comedian Tony Cavalero has been tapped to take on the role played by Jack Black in the 2003 Paramount feature. School Of Rock centers on Finn, a down-on-his-luck rocker who poses as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school as he teaches his eccentric, unconventional and overachieving students to play and love rock ‘n’ roll. Cavalero’s TV credits include guest roles in Modern Family, 2 Broke Girls, Hart Of Dixie and Adam Devine’s House Party. He’s also a main member of LA improv company The Groundlings. Cavalero is repped by Gersh, Truhett/Garcia Management, and attorneys Cindy Farrelly Gesner and James Feldman. School Of Rock is produced by Paramount TV. It’s slated for an early 2015 premiere.
