Take It From Us, a half-hour comedy project from Friends alum Greg Malins, has been set up at NBC with a script commitment plus penalty. Sony TV, where Malins is under an overall deal, is producing. Co-written by Malins and Barry Schwartz, a co-producer on Malins’ upcoming TBS comedy series Your Family Or Mine, Take It From Us revolves around a couple in their 50s who tell their son and his new fiancée all the mistakes they made in life in hopes the new couple can avoid making the same mistakes. The project is described as a love story told in flashbacks in New York in the 1990s. It would be shot in multi-camera/hybrid style, which Malins known well, having served as a key executive producer on CBS’ How I Met Your Mother. Malins and Schwartz, who last year developed The Worst Best Thing together for Fox, executive produce alongside 3 Arts’ Michael Rotenberg and Jonathan Berry. WME-repped Malins developed and executive produces Your Family Or Mine, based on an Israeli format. He also co-created the TBS comedy series Ground Floor. Schwartz is repped by WME, Gotham Group and MFW.
