Alec Baldwin & Kevin Spacey To Star In ‘Boss Baby’ For DreamWorks Animation; Three Join ‘A Monster Calls’

Kevin Spacey Alec BaldwinAlec Baldwin will play a baby in DreamWorks Animation’s newly announced comedy Boss Baby. Kevin Spacey also is aboard as corporate uber-villain Francis E. Francis and the two will duke it out amid a struggle for world power and the title of World’s Best Boss. The pic, inspired by Marla Frazee’s 2010 picture book, will be released on March 18, 2016 by Fox. Tom McGrath (Madagascar franchise, Megamind) is directing the script by Austin Powers scribe Michael McCullers. Ramsey Naito and Denise Cascino are exec producing.

Production is now underway on the pic, which stars Felicity Jones and Liam Neeson in the tale of a young boy who attempts to deal with his mother’s illness and the bullying of classmates by escaping into a fantastical world of monsters and fairy tales that deal with courage, loss and faith. Ness wrote the script based on an original idea by the late Siobhan Dowd, which spawned the book that has been published in almost 30 languages. A fall 2015 release is being eyed.
