Following in the footsteps of Elaine Paige, Betty Buckley and countless Grizabellas since, Pussycat Doll and UK X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger will sing “Memory” in her West End debut this winter. The revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s now-and-forever Cats begins previews at the London Palladium December 6 and is slated to conclude on February 28, 2015. The song’s not new to Scherzinger, who recorded it with Il Divo last year.
Cats, which opened in London in 1981 and ran on Broadway for 18 years, was originally produced by Cameron Mackintosh and Lloyd Webber’s The Really Useful Group Limited.
Acclaimed in London, the Royal Shakespeare Company production of Wolf Hall, Parts 1 & 2 will arrive on Broadway in March 2015, beginning performances on the 20th and opening April 19 at the Shubert-owned Winter Garden Theatre. Lead producers are Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel, Playful Productions UK’s Matthew Byam Shaw, Nia Janis & Nick Salmon and the Shubert Organization.
Like the RSC’s legendary take on Charles Dickens’ The Life And Adventures Of Nicholas Nickleby, Wolf Hall will be presented in two parts and can be seen on separate days or in one marathon including a two-and-a-half-hour dinner break.
