‘Couple Time’ Creators Sell ‘Crescent Heights’ Comedy To Fox

Melrose Place was immortalized on TV by Darren Star, Billy Wilder and David Lynch did the same on the big screen with Sunset Boulevard and Mulholland Dr., respectively. Now a young writing duo is looking to crescentmake famous a less glamorous LA street, Crescent Heights. Fox has put in development a half-hour comedy from UCB Theatre LA regulars Allyn Rachel and Patrick Carlyle, Kapital Entertainment and 20th TV. Written/exec produced by real-life couple Rachel and Carlyle, Crescent Height revolves around an ordinary couple who move into an apartment complex where everyone has secrets and a few are evil. Also exec producing are Kapital Entertainment’s Aaron Kaplan and Tracy Katsky.

This marks Rachel and Carlyle’s return to Fox where they developed comedy Couple Time, based on their digital series, with Ellen DeGeneres executive producing. Neither of the two is attached to star in Crescent Heights as both have acting gigs on new broadcast comedy series debuting this fall: Rachel is a regular on ABC’s Selfie, while Carlyle is recurring on NBC’s A to Z.  Rachel is repped by CAA, Truhett/Garcia Management and Lev Ginsburg. Carlyle is repped by CAA, Evolution Entertainment and Ginsburg.
