Universal Nabs Rights To ‘Let It Snow’ Short Stories Featuring Hot Author John Green

Universal Pictures is also getting the John Green business. The studio has optioned film rights to Let It Snow, the 2008 intertwining short story collection written by Fault In Our Stars author Green along with Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle.

Green’s stuff became coveted after the success of The Fault In Our Stars, which is crossing $300M at the global box office any minute on a $16M budget. Since then, Paramount has its sights set on Sarah Polley to adapt Green’s debut novel, Looking For Alaska.

Paper Towns, Fox’s second Green-based feature adaptation, will be released on June 19, 2015. That third weekend in June is the same frame that launched Fault In Our Stars.

Scott Stuber and Dylan Clark will produce Let It Snow for Universal-based Bluegrass Films. Universal SVP Production Kristin Lowe and creative executive Chloe Yellin will overseefor the studio, and Alexa Faigen will oversee for Bluegrass.

UTA negotiated the film deal.

Green is repped by Writers House, Johnson by KT Literary and Myracle by BG Literary.
