Fox Nabs John Stamos Comedy From Dan Fogelman With Put Pilot Commitment

In a competitive situation bidding against ABC, Fox has landed an untitled single-camera comedy starring John Stamos. The single-camera project hails from ABC Studios, with Dan Fogelman (The Neighbors) executive producing through his ABC Studios-based Rhode Island Ave Productions.

Stamos is executive producing through his St. Amos banner, along with Fogelman and Chun. Stamos will juggle the development of the Fox comedy with his duties on ABC/ABC Studios’ midseason drama series Members Only, which he just joined as the male lead. Additionally, he is involved in a Full House reboot in development at Warner Bros. TV, which I hear is being considered by Netflix.

Stamos, whose stage credits include Cabaret and The Best Man, is repped by WME and Brillstein Entertainment Partners. Fogelman, creator/exec producer of ABC’s upcoming musical fairytale comedy series Galavant, and Chun are also repped by WME.

Fox went aggressively after the John Stamos project, which many expected to go to ABC. This marks one of the network’s biggest commitments given to a pitch from an outside studio in Fox’s first season aligned with sister studio 20th Century Fox TV under Dana Walden and Gary Newman.
