Tyler Perry’s ‘If Loving You Is Wrong’ Clocks 1.93 Million Viewers In OWN Opening

The first episode of Tyler Perry’s If Loving You Is Wrong delivered 1.93 million viewers and a 1.47 rating among women 25-54, setting a series-premiere record for  OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network. In that target demo, Tuesday’s 9 PM unveiling was a 206% improvement in the time slot compared with a year ago. The premiere built every quarter-hour in the demo, climbing 13% over the course of the hour.

OWN new logoThe second episode, at 10 PM, delivered 1.92 million viewers and a 1.48 rating in the demo, marking the second-highest W25-54 rating in the time period in OWN history. The second episode also delivered triple-digit growth in the demo — 185% versus one year ago.

If Loving You Is Wrong takes viewers into the lives of a group of husbands, wives and friends who live and love in the same middle-class neighborhood. Just below the veneer of happiness, their lives are entangled by heartbreak, deceit and lies that threaten to destroy everything. If Loving You Is Wrong follows The cast includes Amanda Clayton, Edwina Findley, Heather Hemmens, Zulay Henao, April Parker-Jones and Tiffany Haddish. Created, written, directed and executive produced by Perry, the series is produced for OWN by Tyler Perry Studios. It is Perry’s second drama series for OWN under his production deal with the network, following The Haves And The Have Nots.
