Fresno is scripted by Community and Portlandia writer Karey Dornetto and is produced by Babbit’s longtime producer Andrea Sperling. Filming is set to begin next month. The film reunites Babbit with Lyonne, who starred in the helmer’s 1999 debut But I’m A Cheerleader. Babbit garnered SXSW and Sundance awards for her film work and in addition to helming features including The Quiet and Breaking The Girls has been directing steadily for the small screen on shows including Popular, Gilmore Girls, Nip/Tuck, The L Word, The United States Of Tara, and more. She recently directed two episodes of FX’s new comedy series Married, which Greer stars on opposite Nat Faxon, Jenny Slate, and Brett Gelman.

Greer’s upcoming film slate includes Disney/Marvel’s Ant-Man, Disney’s Tomorrowland, Jason Reitman’s Men, Women & Children for Paramount, Gravitas Ventures’ Jamie Marks Is Dead, and Pixar/Disney animation The Good Dinosaur. She also stars on FX’s Archer and Married. She’s repped by CAA and Principato-Young Entertainment. Lyonne is up for an Emmy for her work on Netflix series Orange is the New Black. A client of WME and 3 Arts Entertainment, her upcoming films include indies Bloomin’ Mud Shuffle, Hello, My Name is Doris, The Quitter, Tara Subkoff’s #Horror, Kevin Smith’s Yoga Hosers, and Meadowland.
