Disney Strikes Output Deal With Mediacom

The comprehensive multiyear deal with the the nation’s No. 8 cable company includes the includes the previously announced agreement to carry ESPN’s new SEC Channel. Among the new components are all TV Everywhere services and VOD products featuring Disney’s sports, mediacom_logonews and entertainment content. The Mediacom deal includes new services ESPN Goal Line and ESPN Buzzer Beater and renewals for ABC Family, Disney Channel, Disney Junior, Disney XD, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN Deportes, ESPNews, ESPN Classic, ESPN3, Fusion and retransmission consent for ABC-owned stations.

The pact looks a lot like Disney‘s recent deals with large pay TV distributors, with addition of the ability to offer the entertainment giant’s VOD services as well as digitally delivered Watch sites and apps. They offer live and on-demand programming for computers, gaming consoles, mobile and streaming devices.

Mediacom operates in 22 states, with a significant customer concentration in the Midwestern and Southeastern regions.
