Billy Gardell To Host ‘Monopoly’ Syndicated Game Show

EXCLUSIVE: Mike & Molly star, comedian Billy Gardell will host Monopoly Millionaires’ Club, a one-hour weekly syndicated game show, from Scientific Games Corp. and participating state lotteries. The show, based on the Monopoly brand, will serve as the companion TV series for the upcoming, multi-state lottery game of the same name, the first such pairing of a lottery and a TV game show. It’s slated to premiere in early 2015, with distribution details TBD. “I’ve played Monopoly with friends and family since 1979,” said Gardell. “Hosting a big game show is a bucket list level type of job for me.”

Monopoly Millionaires Club will be produced in front of a live studio audience in Las Vegas. Contestants, selected from the studio audience, will be vying for more than $2.5 million in prize money on each episode. The studio audience will be made up of winners of the Monopoly Millionaires Club multi-state lottery game which goes on sale October 19. To qualify to win the four-night, five-day trip for two to Las Vegas, lottery players will register their lottery tickets online. Gardell, repped in the deal by UTA, manager Chris Dipetta and attorneys Adam Kaller and Ken Richman, recently appeared in Clint Eastwood’s Jersey Boys.
