Sound The Trumpets: ‘Heaven Is For Real’ Heavenly On Home Entertainment Charts

Heaven Is For Realthe faith-based movie starring Greg Kinnear, Kelly Reilly and Thomas Haden Church, had a strong run in theaters earlier this spring behind Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Now it’s making just as heavenly a debut on Rentrak’s weekly DVD and Blu-Ray sales and rental charts, topping one Top 10 and second only to Liam Neeson’s latest actioner, Non-Stopon the other. The only other debut in the rentals this week was Tyler Perry‘s latest, The Single Moms Club, distributed by Lionsgate and coming home at No. 9.

The rest of the rental chart is populated mostly by holdovers, including The Grand Budapest Hotel, Wes Anderson’s latest quirky feature and easily the year’s strongest indie performer in theaters so far with almost $59 million in domestic gross. Now, Budapest appears to have checked in for a nice stay in the rentals top 10 as well, suggesting it may be one of the year’s most lucrative films on a ratio of investment to return.
