Ratings Rat Race: ‘Big Brother’ Comes Back Bigger

CBS’s Big Brother posted year-to-year gains in viewers (6.64 million), adults 18-49 (2.3) and 18-34 (1.6) in its 8-9 PM season debut Wednesday — not surprisingly finishing as the night’s most watched program in overall audience and in both demos. Followed by reruns of Criminal Minds (1.3/4, 6.17 million) and CSI (0.8/3, 5.35 million), the network took Wednesday.

NBC’s two-hour America’s Got Talent repeat (1.3/5, 6.2 million viewers) gave BB its stiffest competition in overall crowd, but Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance (1.4/5, 4.38 million) came closest in the demo, though Dance was down 18% from last week’s season high in adults 18-49 (while managing to hand Fox a win in all key female brackets). Talent, meanwhile, churned up NBC’s biggest overall audience in its slot since April 9.
