Ratings Rat Race: NBC Dominates With ‘America’s Got Talent’ Repeat

An encore America’s Got Talent finished first last night among broadcast programs in every key demo. The AGT rerun (1.9/7) retained 90% of the episode’s original run on Sunday, and matched its highest rating for a repeat since May 2012.  In total viewers (7.899 million), it was AGT‘s most watched repeat in three years.

ABC’s Celebrity Wife Swap was the night’s closest competitor (1.3/4), winning its 10 PM slot by beating NBC’s AGT-fueled Night Shift (1.3/4 vs 1.2/4) with its second highest rating in a year, including an 18% pop with women 18-34 (though it dropped a tick in the demo from its most recent original episode — last week’s was a repeat). Wife Swap’s lead-in, Extreme Weight Loss (1.0/3), rose 25% week-to-week.

NBC took the night with a 1.7/6, followed by ABC’s 1.1/4. CBS’ night of NCIS franchise reruns finished third (0.9/3), followed by Fox’s comedy rerun lineup (0.6/2); the CW (0.2/1) was a few laps back.
