RATINGS RAT RACE: ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway’ Rises, Hillary Clinton Interview Soft

ABC’s Monday lineup took a ratings hit with Diane Sawyer’s Hillary Clinton interview, DIANE SAWYER, HILLARY CLINTONdropping from 1.5 in 18-49 last week to 1.0 last night. To make room for the interview, the network subbed the two-hour The Bachelorette original with an hourlong Bachelorette recap special (0.9), leading to the Sayer-Clinton chat, which drew a 1.0 in the demo, finishing last in the 9 PM hour among the Big 4 networks. It did better in total viewers with 6.1 million, finishing in second. Clinton also pushed down 10 PM ABC drama Mistresses (0.9), which slipped 25% from last Monday’s season premiere. The most recent ABC News primetime interview special, Barbara Walters’ sit-down with Donald Sterling’s confidante V. Staviano, drew a 1.7 in 18-49 and 7 million viewers with a better lead-in but no promotion. (more…)
