RATINGS RAT RACE: CBS & ABC Up, NBC & Fox Down While TBS Wins With Baseball

UPDATED: Texas Rangers’ series-winning Game 6 of the ALCS on TBS topped the broadcast and cable competition last night with 11.9 million viewers. It was the second most watched telecast ever on TBS behind the previous deciding ALCS championship game between the Red Sox and the Rays in 2008.)

The baseball game had little impact on CBS’ crime Friday lineup, which posted across-the-board increases. All dramas dominated their time slots in 18-49 and total viewers to deliver another Friday win for CBS, No. 5 this season. Medium (1.4/5, 6.5 million) was up 17% in 18-49 from its fast national result last week (up 27% from the series’ final rating, which was adjusted down). CSI:NY (1.9/6, 10.3 million) was up 12%, and newly picked up Blue Bloods (1.8/6, 11.1 million) was up 6%. Each show also added more than 500,000 total viewers. (more…)
