With the No. 1 and No. 2 shows of the night, NBC handily won Tuesday. The network’s America’s Got Talent was the only primetime program to top the 1’s in demo ratings, scoring a 2.8/10 for its two hours. AGT was so dominant it beat combined competition that included ABC Extreme Weight Loss (1.1/4), CBS’ NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles repeats (1.0/4), and Fox’s Riot (0.4/2) and I Wanna Marry ‘Harry’ (0.4/1) combo. AGT retained 93% of previous week’s 3.0 premiere rating, and finished within 0.2 of a point of last year’s second episode, which had aired later in primetime in order to enjoy a The Voice lead-in.
NBC’s The Night Shift (1.5/5), while losing more than a ratings point off its AGT lead-in, did retain 94% of its previous week’s premiere, which had been NBC’s top summer drama debut in five years. Fox’s Riot, meanwhile, tumbled 33% from the previous week, though it held steady in the adult 18-34 demo. I Wanna Marry ‘Harry’ held steady compared to previous week. (more…)
