ABC Family Cancels Drama Series 'Huge'

UPDATE: Huge creators, Winnie Holzman (My So-Called Life) and her daughter, Savannah Dooley, issued a statement about the series’ cancellation through their publicist Andrew Freedman.

First and foremost we want to thank everyone who embraced Huge and supported it. While it’s disappointing not to be able to go forward with the characters we love so much and had so many plans for, we’re deeply grateful to have had this opportunity. Our goal was and is to create television of depth and complexity that inspires people to think and feel. We believe we accomplished that with Huge, and we can’t wait to do it again.

PREVIOUS: It’s the end of the road for ABC Family’s new drama series Huge. I hear ABC Family this morning pulled the plug on the freshman show starring Nikki Blonsky as an overweight teen at a weight-loss camp. Huge was one of 3 new series ABC Family launched this past summer, along with drama Pretty Little Liars and comedy Melissa & Joey. Liars has already received a back order, with one for Melissa & Joey considered imminent.
