OddLot Entertainment has acquired an untitled divorce comedy to be directed by Gillian Robespierre, who broke out at the Sundance Film Festival this year with her directorial debut, Obvious Child. That pic, which starred Saturday Night Live alum Jenny Slate, was acquired by A24 and will be released in June. Robespierre, who inked with UTA soon after Sundance, will co-write the new movie with Elisabeth Holm. Plot details are sketchy but it is set in NY and centers on three women.
OddLot is now producing Mortdecai starring Johnny Depp, which will be released by Lionsgate as part of a new co-production deal launched this year. The outfit is also behind Jon Stewart’s directorial debut Rosewater. It also produced the Kevin Costner-starrer Draft Day which was released this month.
