RATINGS RAT RACE: ‘Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ & ‘Mind Games’ Rise, ‘About A Boy’ & ‘The Voice’ Fall, ‘Glee’ Ties Low

UPDATE, 3:02 PM: Looks like Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.  had an even better Tuesday than preliminary fast nationals first indicated. The superspy agency series drew a 2.1/7 among adults 18-49 in final fast nationals. That’s a rise of a tenth from earlier. The only other change on ABC was newbie Mind Games who slipped a tenth to 0.8/3. Over on NBC,  The Voice  was adjusted up a 3% to 3.5/12, which is still a season low among the key demo for the singing competition. Freshmen comedies About A Boy and Growing Up Fisher both dropped a tenth from their preliminary fast nationals to 2.0/6 and 1.7/5. Chicago Fire also went down a tenth to 1.9/6

PREVIOUS, 9:20 AM: It wasn’t Captain America, Iron Man or Thor, but the bigger Marvel universe reared its superpowered head on ABC’s Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. last night. Asgardian Lady Sif from the Thor pics, played by Jaime Alexander, showed up to work with Coulson and the team against villainess Lorelei, who appeared on Earth last week to get up to no good. These kind of Marvel properties crossovers are what the company has come to excel at on the big screen and, with Captain America: The Winter Soldier opening soon, has long been many a fanboy’s dream for the freshman ABC TV show. Iit certainly gave S.H.I.E.L.D. a much-needed lift: Last night’s show was up 11% in adults 18-49 from the series low the ratings roller-coastering S.H.I.E.L.D. hit last week.
