Tommy Dewey Set As The Male Lead In NBC Comedy Pilot ‘Mission Control’

The Mindy Project alum Tommy Dewey will star opposite Krysten Ritter in NBC’s pilot Mission Control, a Universal TV-produced comedy from executive producers Adam McKay and Will Ferrell. A workplace ensemble set in 1962, Mission Control examines what happens when a strong woman (Ritter) butts heads with a macho astronaut (Dewey) in the race to land on the moon. Dewey’s Tom is the newest member of Mission Control, a former test pilot who quickly bonds with the male crew and immediately bumps heads with Mary (Ritter). Dewey gets bonus points for his resemblance to the first man in space, Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin (left). On Mission Control, Dewey joins recently cast Michael Rosenbaum who plays another astronaut. Dewey, who co-created Sons Of Tucson, starred in the original pilot for Fox’s Dads last season. He is with the Kohner Agency, New Wave and Myman Abel.
