Molly Shannon To Star In ABC’s Brian Gallivan Comedy Pilot

Molly Shannon has been tapped as the female lead in Bambi Cottages, ABC‘s single-camera comedy pilot from creator Brian Gallivan, Sony TV and Will Gluck‘s studio-based Olive Bridge Productions. She also is in negotiations for a co-starring role in the feature Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2. The untitled ABC project (aka Bambi Cottages) centers on an overworked father dreaming of being “on vacation all year” who decides to uproot his family from the city and move them to New Hampshire, where they open a group of tourist cottages but rarely, if ever, feel like they’re on vacation. SNL alumna Shannon will play his deadpan wife Cathleen, an exhausted but loving mother. Gallivan is exec producing with Gluck and Richie Schwartz. Shannon, repped by UTA and Framework Entertainment, is coming off an arc on HBO’s comedy series Getting On and an Emmy nomination for Enlightened. She just wrapped The Affair opposite Maria Bello and next will be seen in the Sundance indie Life After Beth. Earlier this season, Shannon was attached to topline and produce a mother-daughter comedy project, which was set up at Fox.
