Tracee Ellis Ross To Co-Star In Anthony Anderson Pilot; Ricky Blitt Pilot Adds One

Girlfriends alumna Tracee Ellis Ross is set to star opposite Anthony Anderson in his untitled ABC pilot (formerly Black-ish) from ABC Studios, Laurence Fishburne’s Cinema Gypsy and Principato Young. The single-camera comedy centers on an upper-middle-class black man (Anderson) who struggles to raise his children with some sense of cultural identity despite constant contradictions and obstacles coming from his liberal wife, old-school father, and his own assimilated, color-blind kids. Ross is repped by Impression, Paradigm and Hansen, Jacobsen, Teller.

Australian actress Natasha Bassett has rounded out the cast of Fox’s half-hour pilot from writer Ricky Blitt, Big Bang Theory star Johnny Galecki and producer Stephen McPherson. It centers on a stunted, set-in-his-ways thirtysomething man (Jon Heder)  she gets married — and her new husband (David James Elliott) and his three teenage children move in. Bassett plays Emma, a pretty and smart but rebellious 17-year-old who’s upset her dad (Elliott) remarried so quickly after her mother’s death. Bassett, repped by 3 Arts and Shanahan in Australia, appeared in NBC’s Camp.
