Monterey Media Acquires Toronto WWII Thriller ‘Canopy’

Aaron Wilson‘s World War II thriller Canopy has been acquired by monterey media, which is plotting a theatrical release for late spring/early summer. Set during the 1942 Japanese invasion of Singapore, Canopy tells the tale of an downed Australian fighter pilot (Khan Chittenden) and an injured Singaporean-Chinese resistance fighter (Mo Tzu-Yi) who find themselves stranded in the jungle and unite to survive against their common enemy. Australian-born writer-director Wilson inked with Paradigm following the pic’s debut in the Toronto Film Festival‘s Discovery section and has already filmed a companion film follow-up set 30 years after the events of Canopy. Odin’s Eye Entertainment’s Michael Favelle negotiated the deal with monterey media’s Scott Mansfield.
