RATINGS RAT RACE: Final Season Premiere Of 'Oprah Winfrey Show' Slightly Up

It wasn’t exactly the big ratings bang that would be appropriate for the debut of the biggest daytime talk show’s final season, but given all the lows The Oprah Winfrey Show hit this summer, it was an encouraging news. The final season of Winfrey’s talk show, which featured guest John Travolta and Australian vacation packages for the audience that may have been paid for by the Australian tax payers, drew a 6.8 household rating/17 share, up +3% from last season’s premiere.

Meanwhile, Oprah‘s spinoff, The Nate Berkus Show, premiered with a 1.2 rating/4 share, down 8% from its lead-in of 1.3/4, but up 20% from the time period average in September 2009.
