‘Let’s Be Cops’ Co-Scribe Nick Thomas In Fox Pitch Deal

EXCLUSIVE: After completing production on his buddy comedy script Let’s Be Cops, Fox has made a mid-six figure deal for an untitled pitch by Nick Thomas. The project will be produced by Genre Films’ Simon Kinberg and Aditya Sood, who with director Luke Greenfield produced Let’s Be Cops. Greenfield wrote that buddy comedy with Thomas and Fox releases it August 13. It’s about a couple of knuckleheads who impersonate cops and get in way over their heads. The film stars Nina Dobrev, Jake Johnson, Andy Garcia and Damon Wayans Jr.

Thomas made the preemptive deal to write what is described to me as a big idea concept comedy, so they’re keeping the logline under wraps. It shares the buddy action comedy genre of Let’s Be Cops. Fox’s Jeremy Kramer will oversee it. The scribe is repped by Paradigm and Colden Mckuin Frankel.
