In Croatia, Silvije Petranovic’s The Little Shoemaker scored the second-best local opening ever, behind this year’s EFA-nominated The Priest’s Children, and stood at $138,500 as of yesterday. It’s about a shoemaker’s apprentice who sets off on an adventure. The live-action film follows the animated original from 1997 that was based on The Brave Adventures Of Lapitch, a 1913 novel by Ivana Brlic-Mazuranic.
