Global Showbiz Briefs: Denmark’s ‘The Hunt’; China’s Dream Of The Dragon

Thomas Vinterberg’s The Hunt has been awarded the Nordic Council Film Prize 2013. The Oscar entry from Denmark will receive a cash prize of 47,000 euros to be shared between the director, scriptwriter and producers. This is the second time Vinterberg has won the prize: he took it in 2010 for Submarino. After winning the top actor prize for Mads Mikkelsen in Cannes in 2012, The Hunt was released in Denmark in January this year. It has held the No. 1 spot at the box office ever since. (more…)
