Red Giant Plots ‘Blue Caprice’ Graphic Novel Adaptation

EXCLUSIVE: In a move that runs counter to the usual comics-to-screen trend of adapting material, digital comics co. Red Giant Entertainment has inked a deal to publish a graphic novel based on the Isaiah Washington-starring Blue Caprice. IFC/Sundance Selects acquired the indie drama about the duo behind the Beltway Sniper shootings out of Sundance and opened it in limited release in September. Red Giant scored the deal through the film’s producers Isen Robbins and Aimee Schoof, who are also execs at the transmedia company. For the graphic novel series, screenwriter R.F.I. Porto will adapt his own film script into a quasi-prequel companion piece that further explores the motivations and legacy of convicted murderers John Muhammad and Lee Malvo. (more…)
