Dramas Produced By Garrett Lerner & Russel Friend, Peter Tolan Sell To Fox, CBS

Fox has put in development How To Lead A Life Of Crime, a drama based on the book by Kirsten Miller. Written by Mike Daniels (FX’s Sons Of Anarchy) with House alums Garrett Lerner and Russel Friend supervising, the project is about a how-to school for criminals. 20th Century Fox TV, where Lerner and Friend are under an overall deal, is producing. Daniels is with ICM Partners.

CBS has bought Tigers, a legal drama from writer Meredith Philpott (MTV’s Awkward), Sony Pictures TV and Peter Tolan’s studio-based Fedora Entertainment. It centered around a family dynasty of lawyers headed by a matriarch infamous for her narcissistic personality, biting witticisms and publicity-seeking antics. Tolan and Fedora’s Michael Wimer are exec producing. Philpott is with ICM, Heroes & Villainsand attorney Gregg Gellman. Fedora already has one big sale for Sony this season, landing a pilot order with a seven-figure penalty at ABC for Irreversible, based on the Israeli series Bilti Hafich. The company also is redeveloping CBS’ Jim Gaffigan comedy pilot co-written by Tolan.
