UPDATE: Adewale Akinnuoye Agbaje Joins ‘Annie’; Agnes Bruckner Stars In ‘There Is A World Somewhere’; Derek Cianfrance To Helm ESPN Film

Adewale Akinnuoye Agbaje has joined the cast of Annie, a reimagining of the Broadway musical. He will play Nash, the tough but lovable bodyguard and driver for Stacks (Jamie Foxx) and a good friend of Annie. He starts shooting tomorrow. Agbaje appears in the upcoming films Thor: The Dark World and Pompeii, and his credits include Bullet To The Head and G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra. Agnes Bruckner will star in and executive produce the indie drama There Is A New World Somewhere. She’ll play Sylvia, a struggling artist who returns to her hometown and meets an enigmatic stranger who becomes the catalyst for a road trip through the Deep South. She toplined Lifetime’s The Anna Nicole Story, and her feature credits include Breaking the Girls and Blood & Chocolate. She is repped by APA and Oren Segal of Radius Entertainment.

Derek Cianfrance will direct ESPN: Those Guys Have All The Fun for Focus Features. The film is based on James Andrew Miller’s 2011 oral history of the Disney-owned sports network. Cianfrance’s helming credits include The Place Beyond The Pines, Blue Valentine and the upcoming Metalhead. He is repped by CAA and Electric City Entertainment.
