Nancy Meyers Exits UK-Set Romantic Comedy She Re-Wrote For Sony

BREAKING: Nancy Meyers has officially stepped off the directing assignment of the untitled script she set up earlier this year with Sony Pictures. The studio will continue developing the Meyers-penned script and find another director. The pic, known around town as Royal Wedding, focuses on the life of an American young woman, which gets turned upside down when she begins dating a very unlikely young man. The complexities that follow are bigger than both of them. The comedy is set entirely in the UK, the film will have an all British cast with the exception of the female lead.

It was set up with Matt Tolmach producing with Nancy Meyers, who rewrote a screenplay that was originally written by Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber. She previously helmed The Holiday and Something’s Gotta Give for the studio.
