RATINGS RAT RACE: ‘The Bachelorette’ Hits Finale Low, ‘Under The Dome’ Down, ‘Siberia’ Matches Low

It was all The Bachelorette (2.6/8) all night on ABC on Monday. The two-hour Season 9 finale of the looking-for-love reality show saw Desiree Hartsock take a proposal from baseball player turned mortgage broker Chris Siegfried in Antigua. Staying sporty, the show also saw former soccer player Juan Pablo Galavis announced as the new Bachelor. Coming off last week’s season high, the show was up 8% from it July 29th show. However, it wasn’t all roses. Last night had The Bachelorette sliding 16% from last year’s finale on July 22, 2012. That’s an all-time finale low for the dating series. The epilogue of the live The Bachelorette: After The Rose (2.5/7) was also down to its lowest rating ever. The special fell 19% from last year’s airing. Still, with The Bachelorette as the highest rated show of the night and doubling its network rivals in the 8 PM to 10 PM tile slot, ABC was tops among adults 18-49  (2.6/7) and in terms of total viewers last night with 8.672 million watching.

While 3.2 million Time Warner Cable subscribers in NY, LA and Dallas were still not able to see CBS last night due to the ongoing dispute on retransmission fees, there was a lot happening on Under The Dome (2.5/7) on Monday. The Steven Spielberg and Stephen King-produced show saw a birth, a death, a burgeoning love affair and a realization or two. Matched up against The Bachelorette finale and After The Rose, the show was down 11% from its July 29 show to hit its lowest result among adults 18-49 yet. Still, even with the TWC blackout and the dating show finale competition, UTD was still the most watched show of the night with 10.20 million viewers tuning in. Otherwise, CBS was all repeats on Monday and came in second among the key demo with a 1.6/5 rating.

American Ninja Warrior (1.4/4) started primetime for NBC. The reality show dipped 7% from last week while lead-out Get Out Alive With Bear Grylls (1.3/4) was up 8% over its July 29 show. Coming third in its 10 PM time slot against After The Rose and Under The Dome, freshman Siberia  (0.7/2) was flat with last week to tie its lowest result so far.

On The CW, Breaking Pointe (0.1/0) fell 50% from last week to an all-time low of its own.

Fox was all encores on Monday.
